I think cows are very sweet, mellow animals, that aren't appreciated for their personalities often enough. I've seen enough content of them acting like actual puppies to come to the conclusion that I NEEDED to make a painting of one. Ever get the urge to just, pet a cow? Well... I do.
The inclusion of peonies was stylistic, but also a personal choice. I think that their fragrant scent and gentle coloring compliment the temperament of the cow in the foreground. If I ever get a cow, I will certainly name her Sweetheart. :>
